Fully-Integrated LIFE:
Women Teaching Women
(Part Four)

“…to love their husbands, to love their children…”
(Titus 2:3-4)

As we share testimonies from women who are participating in the Titus II ministry (Calvary’s Women’s Mentoring Ministry), we rejoice at how God is working. Here are two more testimonies:

A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART (anonymous)

I moved to Winston-Salem in October, 2000, with my husband and two young children. We left all of our extended family many, many miles behind. This included my mother, sisters, and best friend. I missed the influence of these dear women on my life.

God answered my prayers and brought two wonderful mentors into my life. They have filled that emptiness that I was experiencing and have given me someone here to look to. They will forever hold a special place in my heart.

WORKING TOGETHER: Beury Derstine

Titus Two has been a Godsend this year! I have been co-facilitating with Penny Whitener since last year when we were placed together and I have LOVED every week with her. She exemplifies God’s calling to live reverently and teach what is good but has always been open to share when she needs that extra measure of God’s grace in a situation. I can think of numerous occasions when she had just the right verse to share from the Word when one of the ladies in our group was seeking. God has given her wisdom through her own walk with Him but she is quick to never let us think she’s close to where she desires to be—knowing that each of us must continually seek His face or we will surely fall on ours.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve gleaned from this semester is that of His grace! We certainly need it daily but as we deal with others we should willingly offer it to them—as Christ commanded his disciples as they were sent to do His work, “freely you have received, freely give.”

Grace, grace, grace…lavish it upon those whom we even think to be the least deserving…for it will be pleasing to God (and His opinion is the only one that matters).
